The Samplemonsoon, as the name implies, is a collaborative plunderphonics and ambient collective that heavily incorporates samples from various jazz, electronic, & experimental records, as well as a touch of improvisation by beautiful and talented individuals! In plain English, two idiots with instruments and one tranny with a turntable.
This project was a rather short-lived collaboration between me and two of my musician best friends, Desiree and Andre (also known as Izzy). We worked for The Samplemonsoon project since late 2023, firstly with a couple of rather awkward sessions where we hung around my friends' room and made straight bullshit on GarageBand (and if we were feeling especially productive, my laptop with REAPER). As we all got to know more about each other and goofed off, we enjoyed each other's company more and more, and I don't think there was anything we ever wanted to do but to play!! ⸜(｡˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝
We worked on small demos that would eventually become our first album, Bittersuite, throughout the summer and into later months of 2024, eventually releasing it privately on vinyl in November and then digitally in 2026. Bittersuite is the only album we've released, but it doesn't mean we've stopped playing after finishing it! Before Izzy and Desiree moved away to college, we kept playing sporadically here and there, and even got to work on a bunch of drafts for a new album.

Desiree she/her
Desiree is not only an excellent trumpeteer, she's also the sweetest girl you will ever meet!!! I would be lying if I said I didn't steal some of her personality when I was transitioning :P
Her trumpet and her mute create beautiful ambient brasswinds in this record (see filles de suchitoto), but that's no wonder, she has been playing the trumpet since she was ten years old! With a brief gig in her old high school's jazz band, she now spends her free time mostly duetting with her dad and loving the beach. She is currently studying Nursing in UC Santa Barbara.
Izzy he/they
Izzy is all about synths and keyboards, he's probably got around 250 different presets in Serum alone, he is CRAZY about synths, SOOO crazy in fact... that he toned it down in this project (˵ ¬ᴗ¬˵)
Unlike me, Izzy IS a trained pianist, a damn good one at that, but he abuses Major Pentatonic too much!! Poor thing flinches from the abuse... In all seriousness though, Izzy is good friend to have while jamming, his passion is EDM and sound design but when you tell him to make ambient or make something kewl and unique... I just don't know how he does it!!
Izzy moved away when he graduated, wherever he is now, I just want him to know that I wish our hug was longer, and I wish I could've cried a little more ( ;´ - `;)

I'll say this now before I forget or someone assumes something else, I'm not the leader or the boss for this project, and I'll never call myself that!
